Another year of Storm hockey is almost here.  This year we are proud to bring back wallpapers.  However this year you’ll be able to carry them around with you on your Apple mobile devices.

Take advantage of that gorgeous Retina display on the iPhone 4 and new iPod Touch at 960 x 480 x 326 dpi.

The wallpapers will also be format to the iPhone 3GS screen (480 x 320 x 163 dpi) and the iPad (1024 x 768 x 132 dpi).

Of course you can download these for other mobile devices, however they might be formatted for your screen.

Where did I get the name “Target” from?

At the time of deciding to add a dog to my life, I was listening to “Operation Mindcrime” from a relativity unknown band, even to this day, named Queensryche.  A brief history from wikipedia.org.  Operation: Mindcrime is a  rock opera, its story follows a man who becomes disillusioned with the society of the time and reluctantly becomes involved with a revolutionary group as an assassin of political leaders. The album is highly regarded within the heavy metal community, often labelled as one of the genre’s finest works.  Released on May 3, 1988, 10 years prior to Target’s birth.  There was a line that alway stuck in my mind, everytime I listened to the album.

I picked up Target from Adamsway Kennls breeders in Walkerton, Ontario on Dec. 18th, 1998. My 27th birthday.  What a present.

At 2:11 of the song, “The Mission” the lyrics go:

I search the past back to a time
When I was younger
A target for the new society
Picked to displace the leaders
Countering objectives
Of this new underground reality

There you go.  It was that simple.  Albeit, Target is an unusual name for a dog, or any kind of pet for that matter, but it stuck, and he brought the name a personality.  His nicknames were: T.T., “T”, Targie, Teg-rat.

We are going to take a break from being dog owners for the time being.  It only seems proper to properly greave Target’s passing with respect, it’s the least we can do for him, and for the healing process.  Our 4yr old, tells us he misses Target, as do we, and I know in time that pain will heal.  I also worry about what time will do to forgetting about the memory of Target.  We are getting a picture and his paw print framed, as a reminder.  It’s important to heal, and it’s important to remember…
